Weaving
Today we had our weaving workshop with Johny Shiels as part of the Creative Schools Programme. We had a look at a table loom and learned how it works. Next, we got to weave our own creations using a board loom. Our Senior pupils very kindly helped our Junior pupils. ❤️Thanks to Johny for coming in to show us all about weaving.
Hurling Tournament
Our Senior Classroom recently took part in the Nathan Farrell Memorial Schools Hurling Tournament at the Scarvey hosted by Buncrana GAA. Well done to everyone!

Spinning Wheel
Johny Shiels, a local spinning wheel maker, came to visit us recently as part of the Creative Schools Project. We learned about how the spinning wheel is made. We helped to assemble the wheel and also had a go treadling the wheel. We also worked in pairs to make a thread using a drop spindle. Thanks to Johny for his help and guidance. We are looking forward to another visit next week for weaving.

Green Schools Flag
Well done to our Green Schools committee on achieving our sixth Green School flag for Global Citizenship - Litter and Waste.

Peaceplus Activities
We had another lovely day visiting our friends in St. Boden’s recently for more Peaceplus activities. Our Junior Class got to do yoga, mindfulness art, races and an obstacle course. Our Senior Class had a beach day where they also did an obstacle adventure course and a scavenger hunt. Both groups also performed their dance along with St. Boden’s under the guidance of Elizabeth. 😊

Peaceplus Day
We had great fun today in Culdaff meeting up with our friends in St. Boden’s. We got to do lots of activities outside in the sun including yoga, archery, games and exploring local natural habitats. We also got to do cartoon drawings, ceramic painting, clay models and K’nex. Thanks to St. Boden’s for hosting us today, we all had a fantastic day!

Hip-Hop dancing
Lots of fun today doing hip hop dancing with Elizabeth Curran as part of Peaceplus .

Pushkin
"The Spiking Heat of Inspiration" is the Pushkin theme this year and we were delighted to be working again with local artist Julie Magee. Julie worked with both classrooms in St. Mura's today and encouraged us all to use our creative skills. Our Junior Classroom were busy with painting and printing and our Senior Classroom did beautiful weaving. Thanks to Julie for all her help.
Djembe drums
Today we had the pleasure of Ronan coming in to do drumming with Djembe drums from West Africa. Everyone found their beat and pulse and really enjoyed the drumming!🪘😀
We would like to thank the Pushkin Trust for funding this session.
Hurling Blitz
